As a key contributor to our small team, you will be exposed to, and have the opportunity to learn many different facets of our business:
state-of-the-art manufacturing, analysis, and testing techniques, participating in exciting R&D programs in support of strategic business objectives, and contributing to solving Service Revealed Difficulties (SRDs) through Root Cause investigations.
Vericor is a fast-paced, work environment, that requires enthusiastic top talent like yourself! As the Senior Controls Engineer, you will be an instrumental part of the Engineering organization, reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager of the Performance, Controls, and Accessories Group.
Responsibilities:
Lead the design, development, and qualification of new controls projects/programs for gas turbines Responsible for requirements gathering and documentation, software creation and validation Provide controls and electrical support during start-up/commissioning phase for industrial engines and systems.
Provide prompt technical support for fielded engines relating to operational issues.
This includes performing Root Cause and Corrective Action tasks, developing and implementing technical solutions and confirming feedback from the customer (internal and/or external) that the issue has been resolved.
Work hands on in the engine test cell diagnosing engine behavior and analyzing trends as required for support of repaired and new engine test.
Provide technical leadership and guidance internally and to vendors throughout all product development phases to ensure the product/program deliverables are met on time and on budget.
Qualifications:
BS or MS in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering Up to 10 years of experience, preferably with Gas Turbines or other engine systems Ability and willingness to travel (approximately 10%) Experience with performance analysis, including modeling, stationary and transient analysis, and engine diagnostics is desired.
Desired - Experience with Matlab, Simulink, Modbus, Wago PLC, VT Scada, CoDeSys Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as multi-tasking abilities, strong analytical skills, strong interpersonal skills, organization skills, and time-management skills.
